I arrived at the Brunei Muara port from a ferry ride from Labuan (Malaysia) at about 5pm. After immigration clearance, I was told that the bus to the city (Bandar Seri Bengawan) just left. I was a bit worried because the port was beginning to be quiet and a few people remained. I could not find a taxi or other transport to the city. I was however, lucky to be seen by a local who offered a free ride to the city.

KAmpung Ayer: Keeping traditions alive!!

Some Bruneians still live in water villages, keeping a hundred year old tradition of living in such environment.

Unique of Brunei water villages is that they have schools as pictured here, a police station, a fire station at the water village

Parks

for a nice early morning walk, go to Taman Tasek. Essentially a jungle within the city.. Plenty of monkeys around the park the time i went there.

On weekends, expect plenty of people doing their walks and some sort of gymnastic moves.

Oh yes!! jolibee in Brunei.

the food served is almost the same as in the Philippines. Chicken-joy, joli hoptdogs, etc. ... But twice the price!

Brunei has the most boring roads-and i love it!

Picture taken 9 am, along Jalan sultan. This is supposedly the busiest road in Brunei. I kindda love it! No traffic jams, no smoke-belching cars. I wish I live along these streets forever....
